Slavs & Tatars are equal parts artist project and publishing concern, its goal being to explore the mutual and multicultural influences of ancient and contemporary Eurasia. A serious task, given the long arm of history, the frustrating level of geo-political discourse today, the uncertainty of tomorrow's borders. But you won't find anything approaching moral didacticism here. A sharp wit and no-nonsense attitude are their weapons of choice.
The work you see below is them together, and also separately. The Nations and Slav Posters are part of the Museum of Modern Art (New York, NY) print collection.
