Metropolis M is a contemporary art magazine made in the Netherlands. The editorial point of view is irreverent and entertaining without sacrificing a sharply analytical voice. An important element in their critical discourse is the context for how people view work now, and how artists make work now - not in a vacuum, and not on a pedestal. It's a welcome relief from the usual hallowed language and dusty pedantry. Each issue contains a section curated by a selected artist; every few years the magazine is remade by a new graphic design team (currently Joris Kritis & Julie Peeters).
