Fantastic Man, The Gentleman's Style Journal and its counterpart The Gentlewoman both have a curiously journalistic approach with a straightforward literary style. Their editorial photography is mannered but gracious, in a style that leaves room for personal fantasies. It's realistic and funny, absurd and just a pleasure to read. Lots of small touches and sage observations that make it special, with a design that feels deliberate rather than bullied, rare for a commercial magazine. And both titles actually include people you want to read about.
Fantastic Man is edited and designed by Jop Van Bennekom, Gert Jonkers; The Gentlewoman is edited by Penny Martin; creative direction by van Bennekom.
