Pelican Avenue is Carolin Lerch (BE). An artist and designer, she is known particularly for distinctive textiles, knitwear, and unorthodox silhouettes. Pelican Avenue produces small clothing collections, often engaging in multidisciplinary collaborations with inspired results, from creative influences wholly outside the fashion milieu. Emotive but controlled, she creates singular worlds based on a deeply personal vernacular.

The following two pieces are from Pelican Avenue's collaboration with contemporary art museum Mu.Zee (Oostend, Belgium). As part of the group show Te kust en te keur with artists Lucy McKenzie, Lucile Desamory, Caitlin Keogh, Beca Lipscombe, the building's front and facade were given a new reading of its old face, a former department store. Pelican Avenue created knitwear pieces as uniforms for the museum's docents. The designs below are from that collection.
