Kat Seale (Portland, OR) works in metals, with elemental shapes as the starting point for her designs. In a loving invocation of Meret Oppenheim's later work, she touches upon the spirit of the femme-enfant, exploring celestial symbolism and the influence of the subconscious. But she keeps it thoroughly modern with hard materials and an industrial swagger. A steady repudiation of the feminine ideal, always good.
